Ferndale Raclette Cheese
Raclette Cheese made in New Zealand
With the magnificent New Zealand Alps, it was just a question of time when
the first competitor to the original swiss raclette would be created right
here. And Mainland's Ferndale Raclette has proven itself in national competitions
to not only be a great raclette cheese, but to be one of the best across
all cheese types.
And so in April 2004 it was not really a big surprise that Ferndale Raclette
became the Champion of Champions at the New Zealand Champions of Cheese
Awards. There were 509 competitors to this award and a total of 35 cheese
makers competed.
In 1986 Ferndale Raclette was developed together with the French cheesemaker
Jean Garsault. Raclette cheese is especially popular in Switzerland, Germany
and France due to its distinct flavour that it develops when melting, for
example over potatoes.
Ferndale Raclette should be available in your nearest supermarket.
So, enjoy this wonderful cheese made in New Zealand! And the best
way to enjoy raclette is of course to use a raclette
grill, which you can buy from us.
